2.0T Petrol VRS ? Turbo Issue

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a Petrol VRS - which has been a cracking car so far!!

My wife mainly uses it - pooling around - and i use it occasionally, and open it up a little more.

My commented on a Temperature rise a couple of months ago - where the temp gauge went right up and then back down again.

Not straight away - but a couple of weeks later - accelerating - the car revved up to 3.5K and then dropped revs - this has happened repeatedly in every gear.

I had my chap plug the car in last week - several codes popped - including temp sensor, air valve and something to do with Turbo.

He cleared codes, serviced - oil and filters etc - this needed to be done anyway.

It has happened since - but now it revs up to 4.5k revs and then drops revs. And today the engine warning light has come on.

Up until yday - although it was dropping revs - no warnings codes had come up when the car was plugged in.

I am aware of the issues with the DV, if it hadn't have changed the rev cutting out range today - i would have suspected this more - but now that it has I'm not sure??

temp sensor, air immitence valve, DV Valve , Turbo????

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Alex

It would help if you quoted the fault codes, and hope someone else has seen them as it's not always a straightforward diagnosis as I found out last year.
