Next step in performance increase

Featured Replies

Hey guys

First of all I would like to thank the forum for giving me some great ideas regarding modding the engine, if it was not for the forum I wouldn't even know what a diverter valve is :p

So the mods I have done:

Forge DV

Forge and CM silicone hoses

Remap 218hp

n249 bypass

1. I have a new front grill VRS emblem, does anybody know how to change them?

2. What would be my next steps in cleaning up and increasing the performance of the car? I have found this really nice intake manifold, do they really increase the performance? by how much?

3. why would someone want to change their could to the 2.0 tfsi?

The IE inlet will increase performance on a big turbo car and maybe a tad on a ko3s equipped car,but all the power increase will be in the top end at the expense of low down grunt!

Even on a big turbo car it loses power and torque below 3.5-4k rpm!

Why anybody would fit one to a ko3s car mystifies me!

My car is 370bhp and I wouldn't fit one of these for performance reasons because of the power losses low down! I would fit one purely for looks, but then,it's not even that good looking a manifold,is it?

If you were going to put £800-900 into your car you'd be better getting a decent set of KW coilovers, some meaty anti roll bars and a set of polybushes or maybe even a LCR front end setup!

Cheers

Mark

What other supporting mods do you have for 218hp? Or is everything listed

Thanks guys! Where could I get those parts ? How much would they improve the performance ?

The 218 hp is actually before any mods, I got the car stock and used from Switzerland with no mods done to anything and the dyno guy was mistified that it had 190 hp :P

Happy Easter btw !
