1.4 petrol DSG Rapid, SE spec.

Featured Replies

There don't seem to be many mentions of the petrol automatic Rapid.

Anyone got one? Fuel consumption would be interesting too.

If you are talking about the 1.4TSI you can ask my anything you like.

fuel consumption is about 13-14L / 100KM - depends on driver mostly.

Are the Israeli gentleman? (or woman)

I did read your thread :) I was looking for a British perspective as our climate, driving conditions, fuel, roads etc will be subtly different. There are some very reasonably priced 1 year old models available in the UK that someone has ask me about and I was trying to get some ownership experience.

I don't recommend the 1 year old models since they are before the big upgrades (4 driver controllable windows, better quality seats and console materials, rear ventilation, 3 spoke steering wheel and an upgraded rear suspension - I might have missed some too)

you are asking if I am a man or a woman (?) - man.

Yeah I noticed the differences when I looked at a 1 year old one yesterday. I.e. steering wheel and window controls. What this about rear suspension?

I have a "1 year old" 1.4 TSI DSG.SE

Had for 1 and 1/2 months now.

Loving the 4 electric windows, bluetooth and cruise control.

Getting an average of 46MPG (filled it tonight 45litres) and 460 Mile on trip meter

I bought mine on the 13th Feb and currently have 1500 miles on the clock. It is averaging 46 mpg but is really nice to drive and very powerful when you want to get going. The DSG gearbox is a dream. I wish I had bought one years ago. All in all I find it a roomy vehicle with excellent quality and fittings for the price I paid for it. A pre-reg SE model in silver that had just been delivered before I bought it. (£14 grand). I thought I did well. Compare that with a smaller Golf/Jetta with the same engine/gearbox £20 grand plus. No contest.

Think it depends on build date rather than registration date. The one I looked at was a 2013 but a noticeable difference in the cockpit...

Yes, it can shift when required :bandit:

having an issue with low speed "booming" noise particularly over the anti skid surface.

Going to buy dampening stuff to fit in boot/wheel well and other places. Plus some insulation to absorb anything else! See the other pos

Interesting about the changes but I don't think it would be an issue due to car being replaced. Engine/transmission is more impprtant.

I've driven a golf with this engine bit not dsg so I can only pass on limited advice. UK mpg is more important. Anything over 40 in auto driving would be considered good and far ahead of old fashioned autos.

The DSG is also super smooth when driving its just seamless
