Changing my Octy 2 (2009) Swing stereo

Featured Replies

Hiya

Finally getting fed up with my very basic Swing stereo (no AUX in as I don;t have the jumbo box).

Anyone know if any of these would fit and be decent? (Would need a facia replacement I guess as well).

For example?

Guessing a facia like:

Would be nice to be able to connect an iPod or tablet for music etc.

Cheers all!

Just get a fm transmitter for 10 quid from amazon that's what I did lol

If Swing have plug/pins in for AUX in the back (Like Stream MP3 or Columbus) then it is not problem to make custom AUX harness with 3.5" stereo jack (female) and put it wherever you like it in the car...

Cost for that is arround 10euros...if buying new plugs via dealer service shops. Have made one for one my friend with Stream MP3 HU and before without AUX in the jumbo..

Hi both

Thanks for both suggestions! Will pull the stereo out this weekend and just in case, I have ordered a little FM trasmitter :)

You could also wire in the OEM AUX-IN cabling, if you wanted to.

Or upgrade to a Bolero or Columbus, which gives you some more flexibility for music - SD card slot for example, and the potential to add MDI as well if you wanted - plus OEM Bluetooth modules as well, if that's something you want.

Ahh would that be a 'pull out the Swing, pop in a Bolero' job?

(Am not too technical...)

On a 2009 car, yes. Otherwise, for older cars, you also need to upgrade the gateway.

Brill - thanks again all.

Not seen a ready-made cable like that before. But yes, on the face of it, that would do the job.

Click the pin assembly into the quadlock adaptor at the back of the radio, then run the cable to somewhere suitable.
