How long to get a fixed build week / out of status 10?

Featured Replies

Further to some of my other posts I'm still receiving a call every week from the dealer telling me the build week hasn't changed but could. Order placed end of March, so how long should it be till that changes?

Also is this still status 10 and what does status 10 mean? Mentioned before I wanted to add Canton and have been informed that this would alter the eligibility for the finance offer I'm on / reset the order.... TBH I'd rather not upset the applecart as I get closer but it'd be nice to take advantage of a 'non fixed' position specially as I'd pay cash for the speakers...

I also ordered end of March - if you've got any sort of build week from your dealer then you're doing considerably better than most (what did you order though, a vRS or not?).  I did order a vRS, and I've not had any sniff of a build week yet, and based on other people's experiences I'm not expecting one any time soon.  My dealer is, however, confident that I'll have the car by the start of October, which is when my lease car goes back (but whether that's "salesperson confident" or "normal person confident" is another thing entirely).

If you ordered a vRS, then you should be able to add options - and if you're paying cash it won't have any impact on the finance agreement, so your dealer is sprouting rubbish there.  However, if it's not a vRS and the progress is at a later stage then you may not be able to without delaying the order... what's the build week you've been given?

I've posted this before but ...

On my vRS TDI DSG Hatch ordered on 11th Jan I got this (in response to an email enquiry from me) from the dealer on 4th March having heard nothing at all up to that point:

"Your order was accepted onto the Skoda order system on the 25/01/2014. From the information received from Skoda they have stated that due to low production numbers of VRS and high world wide demand  the orders will not show on the system with "Code 10 " estimated production week numbers they will go straight to "Code 20" confirmed build week. They are stating the average lead time is still 20 weeks which if all goes to plan that will be the end of May or early June 2014 for your order. I cannot give you any further estimates until your order number becomes a code 20, as soon as that happens I will contact you immediately."

I've heard nothing since despite an agreement on the day I placed the order that I'd get fortnightly email updates. :wonder:

But I guess it could be 5-6 weeks off

What system are they checking to see status's? Is it a UK specific system? I think my dealer said that they use NADCOM (Skoda aus dealer) - not sure how I can convert this detail into something I can ask my dealer about! Mine apparently says "ordered" but no build date or expected build date. I asked if I can get a pano roof added if it wont delay the build......

But does anyone have any firm details about what system all these codes are for?

Any help appreciated.
