lowered. how much and what on?

Featured Replies

Seeing as there's a lot of questions about lowering let's make it easier. In this thread post pics of your car, what you've lowered on and by how much. I'm trying to decide on coilovers or shock and spring set up so this will help massively and makes one easy place to go to for all questions in future.

First vrs (2010) stock height for the first three days of ownership:

same car, this time on winters (bbs) slightly higher than above so i don't have to slow so much on speed bumps:

Second vrs (2012 car), on bilstein b16, prob somewhere around 40-50mm lower than stock:

Standard vs FK ak streets

Not a clue of how much as I just wound them down. It currently sits at 59cm arch to floor as the arches are stopping me going any lower

Your 'before' photo is way higher than any vRS that I have ever seen!  I've just looked out of the window at my standard height vRS and it is nearer your 'after' photo than the 'before'.

30mm PI springs:

I always thought it sat a bit high but it was always having Coilovers fitted anyway. The pics don't do the after shot any justice tbh as there taken on a phone. It sits 59cm arch to floor so if your 'standard' vrs is near that you have issues ;)

Running FK Silverline coil's, no comfort spring, around 1 cm from buttom on front coil's.. Think its about 90mm lowered front and about 70mm back... - but i havent messured...

I've fitted the Eibach prolines but they don't seem to sit low enough for my liking :(

Do the spacers make any difference?

Inproved Handling and brings wheel out flush with arch but are they worth the price? not really, well overpriced but saying that you get pi springs and spacers for price of top branded springs.

Not a massive fan of spacers myself, seen wheels fall off so keep an eye on them.

Other option is to buy wheels with an et to suit.

That will be wrong nuts used . I had a dimma 205 many years ago with 150mm spacers on each side held on with cylinder head bolts . They stayed on lol, although we are always replacing worn wheels on artics at work cause they fall off without spacers on.
