Uprated brake upgrades.

Featured Replies

I have a Derv VRS 07 running 210bhp currently and would like to upgrade my discs.

I've been advised to steer away from ebay and their mintex ( I think ) make.

I will be doing track days and want something that looks good. I do not want to fit anything bigger so will be sticking with stock size.

Was thinking of maybe buying these? A yoke else running them or what do you recommend cheers :)

I always thought it was best to keep OE discs and spend the money on good pads.

I have zero sixty discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads and racing blue fluid.

They offer a v slight improvement over standard brakes (hard to gauge) but look better.

In certain circumstances the discs can sometimes be 'noisy' caused I believe by the grooves making a 'thudding' type noise. This is occasional.

I would definitely like a set of Brembos to improve track performance but don't have a spare couple of grand!!

I am going to go for the boxster brake upgrade. I have no intention of doing track days but, if I did, then I understand the brembo brakes allow the pads to be very easily swapped.

Quite expensive though. Calipers seem to be going for about £300 a pair on ebay and will then almost certainly need a refurb and painting.

Disk and pad costs don't really count for comparison as they would be needed for whatever brake system but the boxster (non-S) system can at least be used with standard vRS disks. I don't think it will under 16" winter wheels though.

Apikol in the U.S. sell the calipers new for USD730 but that is only the calipers and will need lines etc.
