Electronic Service Record

Featured Replies

So, my new Octavia has no service book, only a piece of folded card to put printouts in when the dealer services it. My intention was to have it serviced by Skoda until out of warranty then go to my trusted VAG specialist. However this electronic service record, which Skoda probably think will stop people going to specialists, means I'm thinking of using the independent straight away as their printouts will be as good a record as the dealer ones.

Anyone had any warranty issues through not having dealer services ?

As long as you can prove that the service was carried out by qualified technicians, and that any parts used were genuine Skoda parts (or the same parts that a Skoda garage would use), then you should have no problems with the warranty.

Luckily mine came with a service book, due to having the 3 years free servicing you don't even get a copy of the invoice  as it all goes it SUK for their accounts so if mine was on the electronic service record thingy i'd have nothing to show it's being serviced at all!

My new Subaru also has an electronic service record, however, I got an invoice for the service which I think is worth more than a dealer stamp.
