Should be a 1L bottle in your boot in a nylon case strapped to one side?

As above anything with 507 stamped on it. The hand book for my Octy III says "Skoda recommends Castrol oil". The sticker in my Octy II engine bay said "Skoda recommends Shell oil"

Many thanks for all the replies. No sign of the engine oil in the boot of the the estate !! i will ask the question at the stealers tomorrow!!!

There other other oil produces now that do a 507.00 spec oil which is for the variable servicing schedule . If you are on a fixed service schedule I believe you can use a different oil spec maybe 504.00 but I may be wrong. The Castrol is about £20 pounds per litre but you can get it much cheaper if you shop around. If your vRS is on variable you have to use this oil spec do not mix it with anything else.

if you have a diesel you must use 507.00 oil regardless of service regime due to the DPF which can be damaged irreversibly by using the fixed interval oil.

Oil issue resolved. Found a 5Ltr container of Castrol 5W-30, 507:00 in my partners garage, she bought some for her Scirocco Tdi Happy days indeed.

5 litres of 507.00 for less than £25 with Halfords Trade Card.

Be careful buying oil on eBay and Amazon, there is lots of fake oil out there...

Get the Longlife II oil from your local TPS, it is the genuine stuff
