Hi all

On the Fabia (1.9 TDi estate 2001) that we bought our lad, the spare wheel and tools set including jack is missing. The toerag that sold the car to us said he would sort them out but guess what??? Anyway to get this sorted out I want to buy him what he needs and all I can find is stuff to fit a VW Polo etc. The adverts say that it will also fit the Skoda, is this true?

I figure that ebay will be my friend in this so hoping for reassurance please

Would of thought it will be the same - just make sure the spare wheel size is the same as it is supposed to be. Are there any locking wheel nuts (hopefully not!)?

Hi JRJG. Thanks for the reply. I believe that we have locking nuts (bolts?) and the key in the boot. I will try them later to ensure that they are correct. Does the steel spare wheel utilise the same bolts as the alloy wheels?

Yes the bolts are the same.

The jacks supplied on most of the range are identical (Fabia/Octavia 2/Golf/A4 have all had identical items from personal experience, the fabia was unpainted though, like it makes a difference, plastic screwdriver handle on the fabia was slightly more basic as well but it is the oldest i've owned out of the lot so perhaps that has more to do with it), a steel wheel in the correct size will fit from a Polo6n/Ibiza mk1/Fabia mk1 and several other cars in the range. VAG are very good at using standard parts across the whole range, it's just the price and badge that tends to change.

What size wheel and tyre do you want? I have several new ones 185/60/14s on 6J wheels in my garage that we could negotiate over. or you could take away ones of the wheels on my drive and put a new tyre on. I'm in Desborough.

Where abouts are you located? I have a full tool kit and steel spare (granted tyre is low on tread) that I removed from my crashed Fabia.
