Featured Replies

LOL. OK, so I have a Yeti, a Beard, Grey Hair, and a Camper. Any other pre-requisites I missed on the configurator?

Saga membership?

  • You can't stereotype all Yeti owners as having beards... but this pic I took of the Yeti section at last years Gaydon National meet seems to offer evidence to the contrary

  • I must've missed that option on the configurator!! I definitely don't have one (and neither does my husband!)

Ha. What have I started :)

Saga membership?

Yep! got that too. :giggle:

Yep, grey hair (disappearing alarmingly)  and grade one designer stubble that I'm told adds 10 years to my looks

There was a discussion on the cyclical popularity of beards on the TV the other day, with various "experts" giving their views.

Apparently when beards are rare, women tend to be more attracted to the men with beards as they stand out more in the crowd. Hence more men then adopt them until women start prefering the shaved look again as that then stands out by its rarity. It goes in regular cycles.

Beards & designer stubble are very common at present, however those still sporting them have reportedly been left behind in the popularity stakes at the moment!

I tried the bearded look years ago, but the grey patch looked bad and added years to my apparent age!

I haven't noticed beards, but I have noticed almost every Yeti driver around here is well into their retirement.

I saw a geezer driving a yeti near heathrow airport the other day who looked remarkably like Harold shipman, alas he had a beard too.

I have a beard, the same one for the last 20 years - give or take a growth of hair or 2 and a 'slight' greying here and there.

In that time I have owned Citroen 2CV's, a Honda Civic (Coupe!) a Toyota Celica, a Seat Altea 2.0 FSI (went like ... off a shovel), 2 Mercedes SLk's and now the Yeti & the Citigo.

I'll just stand back and wait for the comments!

I'm clean shaven.

Not all of us - still got a long long time until I get to put my feet up.

It's behind you!

Umm...To the best of my knowledge, they're all actually in front - mine certainly has been, since 1970 Beardy1_zpse5b6813d.gif

Beware, that's a retirement myth!  No up-putting of feet!

I think it depends how old you are........

Doesn't hair grow out of all sorts of places as you age?

Got all that to come......great?!

Nope.

Gillette.

I ordered a Yeti today - was it because I'm retired and  have a beard?

Possibly.

Best you check with the lads down at the allotments and get back to us on that one.

My wife drives the Yeti. She isnt retired but does have the most luscious of beards.

It is a known fact that 80% of Guardian readers have a beard; is there a crossover - many Guardian reading Yeti owners?

Retired:  Check!    Beard: Check!   Guardian Subscriber:  Check!

Retired: Check!, Beard: Check, Guardian reader: no thanks!

Retired?      Nope! Not till age 67 on current mortgage repayment schedule!!   Still another 7.5 to get there.

Beard?        Yep. Since gave up using razor blades in late 20's.  Philips trimmer once/week.

Guardian?   Nope!  More an Independent / the "i" sort of reader.  Close perhaps?

Appreciate value for money goods (as distinct from cheap vs. expensive): Yep!

I have a white Yeti and a white beard.

Don't get confused and jet wash the wrong one...

  • 1 month later...
