clive said earthing issue

Id trust his answer ahead of mine :D

Deffo an earth issue

Last time I saw this set of faults, it was a melted fuseholder on the battery. All the items listed are fed from terminal 87F. If it is an earth fault, the most like candidate would be the earth point in the plenum chamber. IIRC, it could also be a relay.

Isn't that the fuel pump relay list ??

As in a knackered relay

Yes, 87F (the small terminal on the relay plate) is fed via the fuel pump relay.

WHAT!! i just read on a vw forum they were a tenner lol

thats sterling too damn. next time im at the breakers im gonna grab a bunch of them. really wasnt expecting that though

I'm sure when I asked in TPS they were around that much, they seem to be £10 on ebay second hand, might be worth trying someone breaking on here.

Some cheap ones on eBay allright.

Bit late in the day for this but if I'm unscrewing the relay plate should I disconnect the negative on the battery first?

Why are you unscrewing, just drop down the plastic under dash cover thing and pull out the relay.

I have problem with water in drivers door and corroded wires in the connector. I also noticed water sitting in the rubber grommet that protects the wires going between the door and car. figured if water in there in cause easily be running down the wires in under the facia.

Im not sure but if those wires run into that plate I thought unscrewing and inspecting might be an idea

Ah right got you, thought you were making life hard for yourself there lol.

That could be the cause of the codes for you right there

Yep was thinking the very same:) probably safest to disconnect the negative I guess. Electricity scares the bejeebees outta me. I hate doing anything around the house involves wiring. A lot less volts/current in the car but still don't fancied gettin zapped

My buddy has a 07 1.9TDi octavia. would it have the same fuel pump relay to swap into mine to check if mine faulty?

popped my one out (says 409 on top) and certainly doesnt look cruddy or melted or damaged anyway
