White smoke?

Featured Replies

Right guys, got white smoke coming out after a blip when I return to idle. So after a run up to 100mph say and then eventually come to a stop, white smoke near on bellows out the exhaust. I've tried the maf, still showing the code after clearing it a few times, so a new maf is on way. Also someone said that injectors could be dead? Is there a way to test and what options do I have if I need new ones?

Thanks

Will

Is there any strange noises coming from the turbo mate

Is it smoke or steam and are you sure it's white and not tinged blue? Has the coolant level dropped? White steam is evaporating water and a number of reasons exist for this including HG but hopefully not.

It's not injectors; if it was then the engine either wouldn't run (underfuelling) or black moke (over fuelling).

My thoughts are of head gasket (there's a chemical test for this costs maybe £15) or valve stem or turbo oil seals (is it using oil?)

Ok thats put my mind at rest for a bit.

And where can i get this test, do most garages have this equipment? And its using a little oil but i keep blowing off the intercooler pipe from the turbo so oil seems to leak until i stop and reconnect it, and oil is leaking out of my sump plug bolt, so unsure of how much oil its using either through valve stem seals or turbo seals.
