oil light on after battery change

Featured Replies

Hello people, I changed the battery on my vrs and allot of lights were on, few seconds into drive and they all went off except the yellow oil light which just wont go off. Any help would be much appreciated thnx.

... Have you checked the oil level?

Open and close the bonnet but yes, obviously check the oil first!

Does the bonnet light work?

Did you have the ignition on when you changed the oil ?

If so you might have burned out the oil level sensor on the bottom of the sump.

he didn't change the oil?

Sorted! I changed battery not oil, bonnet light works, opened bonnet and shut it many times. Took the dip stick out to check level a few times oil level was right, but that did the trick and light went off lol

There are a few reports of random dash lights after a battery change. A 15 minute drive should clear the lot as the sensors reset and work again.

Yellow oil light? I thought the oil light was red? Are you sure the yellow light was not the steering angle light that goes off after driving in a straight line?

Mike

Oil level is yellow, pressure is red.
