Hi i have a fabia from 2000 a 1.4 16v.

 

The problem is that there is alot of rattle / noise from the dashboard. I have search and found this page:

I can see there should be a guide but i can not find it. Anyway i have removed the center air vents but i can find the place where i have to put the rubber a described. I have uploaded a picture. Can you tell me what i have to do next / put the ruber ? Sorry for my bad english. I hobe you understand. Thanks for the help. It is appreciated.

 

I drove a evening trip. I am not sure anymore that the noise comes from the center of the dashboard. Rather the glove box. I found this:

When I had this problem, my mechanic also tried to remove the glovebox, but without any luck. We finished the task with a very long screw driver, a small piece of rubber and one drop of super glue (to temporary attach the rubber to the screw driver head). 

I finally found out where the rattle came from. I have some weeks ago adjusted the steering wheel due to back pain. Today I tried to set the steering wheel back to default position now the rattle is gone ? I guess I will live with a bit awkward sitting position rather than that rattle noise is drives me crazy.
