Failed to start.......

Featured Replies

vRS Combi, 2.0TSI built August 2013.....

SWMBO dropped the eldest off at school today and proceeded to start the car and drive home. Trouble is, it failed to start.

After a few more tries, it started and ran ok. About 300 yards down the road it completely died again and once more failed to start.

Luckily someone was there to help push the car out of immediate danger.

The car then restarted but died when the throttle pedal was touched.

Skoda assist came out and checked for DTCs:

15240 (P068700) ECM power relay control circuit high (sporadic)

16821 (P060300) Control module error

16822 (P060300) " " " " "

By this time I'd driven up to where the car was sat so SWMBO and our 9 month old could get in my car.

I drove the car to our local Skoda dealer and they now have it for tests etc. It bloody drove fine all the way there.

From what I was able to pick up, it could be down to the ECU/ECM software, related to the throttle.

There is an update available but the car chassis number isn't eligible - but could be a 'crossover' car.

Naturally I'm unimpressed with a car that left my wife and our 9 month old stranded on a busy A road.
