Alloy Wheel Centre Cap Skoda Badge

Featured Replies

As a lot of you will know, I have recently changed to 17" alloys (Wolfrace Urban Racer) which have 60mm diameter centre caps.

I want to get rid of Wolfrace branding on the cap and replace with Skoda badge. The wheel supplier, Rochford Tyres, who are extremely helpful and supplied at excellent price have logos/badges that are designed to stick on the centre cap, for most other makes, but not Skoda.

I have measured the Skoda logo badge on my steering wheel (L&K 4 spoke) and it is almost the right size and I guess would survive fitting to a road wheel?

Before I go to my local dealer to get a price on these, does anyone know a source for suitable Skoda logo centre cap badges.

As I haven't got my EPC running yet, if anyone has part no. and price for the steering wheel badge, that would be great.

Thanks,

John.

When I got my 17s, I paid my dealer for some nice shiney chrome effect Skoda inserts, and they fitted a beauty (only by testing with an unfitted wheel at the time) - I believe most alloy wheel inserts are universal, so your dealer should be able to supply them quite easily. There was a piccie on my website of a wheelie big close-up of the alloys, but I've deleted it... Only on my HD at home now.

PS: They were only about a fiver for four.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for that - when you say dealer, do you mean Skoda dealer and from memory your wheels are VW?

John.

Hmm...maybe find a friendly vRS owner to try their centre cap? Or skulk around a dealer's forecourt... :D

Rob.

Good suggestion Rob.

John, I'm in Aylesbury if you fancy a trip on the A41...

There seem to be a few different wheel inserts available depending on wheel and model, ie L&K, RS etc.

Yep - I did mean my Skoda dealer, and the wheels were VW (made by OZ on behalf of...) and as it happened the sizes matched. Anyone know of anyone who'd like 4 VW alloy wheel inserts? :D

John,

Sorry to dissappoint -- but the logo on the steering wheel does not appear to be available as a seperate part -- look's like only available with AIRBAG!

However - what about the Skoda Logo on the boot or grille ?? - same kinda size -- and ment for outdoor use.

Part No :1U0853621CMEL -- this might do the trick ?

Edited to show correct part no -- Doh!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for checking that out for me - I guess buying 4 airbags is an expensive way of badging my centre caps!!

I will check out that part no and the other suggestion (Thanks guys!) for checking out a range Skoda centre caps to see if they will fit my wheels.

John.

How easy is it for you to take a wheel into your dealer's parts department? For me, it was a sinch because my wheels were in a box, so I just walked into my dealer with one under my arm... Got some funny looks too. :D Like, "what is HE doing with an alloy like that in a skoda garage?"

The bloke unwrapped the pack of covers and we hammered one into the alloy before I paid for them. It's moments like that which is why I respect my dealer, just not for their servicing. :D

Jaytee,

Ive just fitted the same wheels & was thinking exactly the same as you so please let me know how you get on & I will do likewise.

One possible thought although I have not tried it yet, I believe the centres on the L&K 5 spoke wheels are some sort of stick on item, Wendys have started corroding & the dealer muttered something about new stickies.

Mine are plastic removable shiney jobbies, because they have to be, so your tyre fitter can stick them on the balancing machines and give them a good spin. :D

Most wheels have some form of pop-off caps. The sticky logo may be on top of a plain cap, so to speak.
