query regarding ordering a new VRS

Featured Replies

Hi guys, as most of you have been victim to the long waiting times, can someone tell me if I was to order this week, when the car finally arrives in about 6 months, do I receive the deals (free servicing, low apr or whatever) that is available at the time of order, or the deals at the time of delivery and registration?

As I understand it, you order on todays deals, and if a better deal comes along before you pick the car up you can switch to that deal, but any price increases that may happen will then come into effect as well as you are effectively ordering again.

The 'deal' is done and dusted at the time of ordering not at the time of delivery.  All parties need certainty.

Think about it - how could you agree to pay for goods/services in six months time without knowing the cost?  The contract will be slanted in favour of the dealer but even this would be a step too far - allowing yourself to be exposed to an unlimited price rise.

If the deal is more favourable in six months time (unlikely) then Skoda usually allow you to switch through goodwill.

Which is what I said really - free servicing or 0% may come back on a vRS, but if they do, you will be subject to the price at that point in time, not the price at the point of order.

The only problem is that the dealer may re-value any p/ex you have and you may not actually be any better off.
