Is dimming the DRL when indicating possible on VRS ?

Featured Replies

As it says really, is it possible to programme the vehicle with VCDS so the DRL dims when indicating as the Audis do ?

Thanks

It is if you have access to vcds

Since the DRL's are not near the Indicators and causing anyone to fail seeing the indicators, why would you want them to dim?

My MkII FL does it so I assume a MKIII Will

Rear lights also on with DRL's

If in Daytime/Daylight those are stopping others seeing your indicators, which would be a Skoda Design fault

where not all DRL's are set to dim from the factory,

Imagine how much the indicator must be hidden from other road users when a Dipped Headlight is turned on.

ATEOTD anything that helps the muppets on the road see what your intentions are (and a DRL going off or dim when an indicator is put on is ALWAYS going to stand out more) is a good thing IMO.

You have the CHOICE to do this or not, nobody is forcing you, but get used to it as just like LED DRL’s more and more manufacturers are doing it.

The EU legistlation requires them to do it,

if DRLs are too bright and stopping Indicators from being clearly seen.

So they never did it as standard that they dim on a Type Approved after Feb 2011 car,

just make it available as a choice.

Skoda must have decided they did not mask the Indicators.

Nothing to get used to, the legislation is already all there.

(It does stand out to those with no Car Knowledge, they think some cars have a bad wiring connection/Earth.)
