Xeon Headlights Europe Travel

Featured Replies

Hi all new to the forum and could not seem to find the search function.

So I have started this thread to find out the best option for changing the Xeon headlights on my  Skoda Octavia II VRS 2010 for Europe Travel.

I have heard that this can be done and I do not need to add the plastic deflectors. I have found the Travel option on the menus this is for turning of the turning lights the car has I think?

Please if anyone could help that would be great.

Cheers

Danny

IIRC travel mode alters the beam angle for driving on the wrong side. Enable that in Maxidot and job done I think

That's correct....if he has Maxidot

I am on continent as we speak. And that is what i have done. It flattens the beam and makes them light up correct side of the road. Maxidot, travel mode and if its dark enough you can see the magic happen.

Excellent everyone Thank You yes I have this option from the steering wheel so assume this is Maxidot and will try when it is Dark Later  great stuff....

Your first sentence had me looking at your home location - and it confirmed what I was thinking Tommy_TadPole! ;)

Are you sure about the beam lighting up the correct side of the road though? IIRC, it just flattens the portion that would normally illuminate the nearside.

It works fine John

I drove to Slovenia last year having activated this lighting mode...no problems at all

It works fine John.

I've no doubt it works fine Chris but doesn't it work as I described above and NOT as a 'mirror image' setting?

After all, don't the people who buy their cars here and then do extended work in such as Germany need new headlights to satisfy their equivalent of the Type Approval Certificate?

What are the options for Pre FL? I have Xenon + Maxidot.

Rob

If you don't have Maxidot, you have to open the headlight and physically move a flap

Again, I believe that is in the manual

Pre FL Maxidot gives you no tourist mode function. You have to get the headlight out and move a mechanical lever.

However I just use small strips of aluminium tape on the headlight to cut off the beam.

It's just for le mans in June, no night time driving so I may just chin it off. aly tape on standby though lol
