brakes vrs problem

Featured Replies

Right had front brake retaining screw sheer off but noticed there is about 2mm of play on the disc without the screw in and with nuts on, is the retaining screw meant to stop this play? as normally on other cars I had there was no movement and the screw just held the disc on while fitting the wheel. Its almost as if the disc holes aren't flush with the nuts giving it that 2 mm to move. Possible wrong discs?

The screw is just there to centre the disk not saftey related so to speak and your right the wheel should hold it tight. Could be wrong disks. Have you torqued the wheel bolts?

Yeah everything been torqued up, feel vibration when driving and pull on that side so caliper might of gone to. The diameter of the bolt holes on the disc are whats causing the play so maybe I'll bin them and get another pair from motorline and change my calipers over as have spare set floating about see if it solves problem. Just thought I'd make sure cheers buddy
