P0011 code popped up

Featured Replies

Just been driving home from work and my EML came on. Just quickly checked the code and P0011 came up. Camshaft timing over advanced or system performance bank 1 was the description.

I had my timing belt done yesterday and it took them two days to do it due to seized bolts etc.. I knew they would **** it up. This is why i dont trust anyone with my cars.

Not only that but they didnt connect up the main inlet pipe to the throttle pot either so the drive home from the garage was interesting.

Looks like they also put the cambelt on a tooth out. Probably didn't have the locking tools for the the cam, & crank so used the Tipex & hope method. :wall:

Check the camshaft adjuster is connected

Check the camshaft adjuster is connected

Wheres that located?

Wheres that located?

It's at the opposite end of the head from cambelt. The actual adjuster sits in the drive chain for the inlet camshaft.

I checked the plug on the adjuster and its plugged in. I have scanned it again using VCDS lite instead of my sealey scanner and theres nothing pending or showing up.

I checked on readiness on vcds and everything passed apart from SAI which was failed or imcomplete. Unrelated i know but that system works

Yeah the code could be for a number of things. I just assumed it came on for me because i drove the car (unknowinly) with the main inlet pipe not connected to the throttle
