Retrofitting ACC (Adaptive Cruise)

Yep, unless it's actually broken down no dealer will look at it there and then, they're workshops are always really busy.

Nope, but 5hrs later isnt too bad! No leaving the car with them either like my original dealer wanted. Said if i wait there, they will check it over at the time, and see if its something simple like coding.

Just 2hrs more until i take it back in.

5hrs versus 6 days. Wait with the car, versus leave the car with us. Yep, i know who wins.

Just received a call from Skoda UK regarding the email i sent them about ACC.

Apparently retrofitting ACC wont be possible, and wont ever be. It is very complex, and only possible to be inserted during build. Mainly because it has to be inserted into the cars wiring loop. Something like that he said anyway.

Very nice guy. Explained it fully, and even chatted about other aspects of the car.

That should put a bit of value, or least desirability, on the handful of cars that were ordered when the ACC availability window was open.

Anything is possible. Cost will be the problem... Nothing to say you can't retrospectively add the wires... Just a lot easier to put them in the loom in the first place.

To add the wires in the correct places would mean taking parts of the trim out of the vehicle. Would be a massive job, and very expaensive.

Not impossible no, but considering the size of the job, Skoda arent going to be introducing a kit to retrofit it. Be a waste of time.

Just a case of waiting for our next car I think. I can easily live without it, but will seriously consider getting it next time.

Hi Guys! Anything new on this topic?

It can be done. There are conpanies here in DK that does the job. The cost is around £1000-1200 depending om what equipment the car was built with.

tnx.

I'm from Slovenia and I don't konw any companie that would do that work... Do you maby know where I can get kit to complete the job?

What do you think about that:

It looks promising. Write them an email and ask :)
