17" wheels for Octavia 3 SE

Featured Replies

I want to replace the 16" wheels on my Octavia Estate SE 1.4 dsg which is due in June

17" Denom option wasnt available when I ordered.

The aftermarket Skoda ones ares are very expensive (except Hawk)

I would like the size to be as close as possible to the standard oem 7x17, ET49, C/B 57.1

There appears to be quite a lot of aftermarket wheels 7x17, ET48, but are there any that have

c/b 57.1 without spigot rings?

Altenatively I might hold on and wait for some nearly new Teron wheels to come up

Comments and advice, plus any photos appreciated

MB and VAG use 5x112mm pcd, but the centre bore sizes are different, hence after market alloys usually require spigot rings. Spigot rings are made of plastic and do not damage the hub and do not alter the ET (not to be confused with spacers) - I have used spigot rings on all of my winter wheels without a problem - why don't you want to use them?

When you get some 17" are you going to sell your 16"? Might be tempted with them for winter tyres.

I know spigot rings are widely used, just wanted to know if there were any non oem wheels that didnt need them, thanks

Quite possibly, still a month or so away.

When I test drove an Octavia at Simpsons of Preston (it was their sales manager's old car) the car had 19" Turini rims fitted. I told them I didn't fancy those rims so they said they would take them off and refit the original 17" Teron rims, which were brand new with the brand new tyres still fitted. The car is still for sale and I guess they will still have the Teron's. Might be worth giving them a ring to see if they will cut you a deal. Ask for the Sales Manager.
