Bluetooth options - what do they mean?

Featured Replies

I see on the UK configurator the following is offered:-

Bluetooth+ (wireless aerial connection) £180

On the Irish version however the options are:-

Bluetooth+ voice control €20

Bluetooth+ voice control & wireless aerial connection €285

Bluetooth+ wireless aerial connection €265

Does anyone know what these different options do exactly? The dealer doesn't seem to know

With which infotainment unit?

AFAIK the Columbus comes with Voice Control as standard (on UK Spec).

The Bluetooth+ aerial connection is purely a tray where the ashtray is with an inductive coupling to the roof mounted aerial that boosts the phone signal/reception.

It works quite well actually.

My car will have the Bolero only fitted. I've also asked for the Mitsumi option.

So the Bluetooth+ option is 180 quid just for the tray?

I think I see what the options mean now - the dealer is saying I can't have the Bluetooth+ voice control option. He's not sure why.

Does this mean it's already included(I'm speccing the Bolero + Canton) or can it not live alongside the Mitsumi option?

Sorry to be asking basic questions here but neither the dealer nor the main Skoda office in Dublin know the answers.

Voice control and Bluetooth is standard on the whole octavia range in the UK atleast...

It isn't just the tray, it is the sharkfin aerial as well. I doubt if the Bolero is capable of voice control anyway.

I have Bolero with Bluetooth plus and have voice control.

It is Andy, it's standard across the range, mine has it and I don't have Bluetooth+. It's crap though but that's a different thread :D

Fair enough, not really played with a MIB Bolero.

I'm not overly bothered about voice control - as long as the bluetooth works and the phone contacts etc are easily displayed I'll be happy

The Bluetooth+ has nothing to do with that, all it is is the aerial booster.

They should never have called it Bluetooth+ in the first place, look at the confusion it creates.

I have it, and it's pretty good.

SignalBooster+ is a better description
