Hello from Peterborough

Featured Replies

Hello! I'm Ben from Peterborough, 21 of age and a bit of a diehard Ford fan, but certainly not blinkered!

Been after a new car for ages, currently hooning around in a track prepped Puma that was only supposed to be a temporary fix until I found something new, but I'm too damn fussy.

I've looked at all sorts, 850/V70 T5 Volvos, B5 Audi S4s, GT4 Celicas, 3000GT, Evos and plenty of others. As you can see there's no real similiarity between them, and I don't need anything practical, but I've taken a fancy to a nice black mk1 Octavia VRS, as I'm planning on building something interesting to keep my silly side occupied.

Not a stranger to forums so I shall be posting in relevant sections :hi:

Ben.

Welcome to Briskoda, Ben. Have you found a suitable Octavia vRS for your build? :)

Re-reading that I didn't word it too well, the Octavia will be the daily smoker, still tinkered with of course

I've got a 2.0 Zetec sat in the garage that came in an old mk3 Fiesta I picked up for peanuts, so I've been thinking of doing a rear engine conversion in a KA or something, M62 supercharger running sensible boost. All ideas of course

I like the Q car appeal of the Octavia, always been a fan of sleepers!

i had a remapped 2002 Octavia 1.8T 4X4 Estate. Now that was a sleeper. :)

What's the running gear like in those? Is it the Haldex system? I had looked at a 4x4 but was unsure how well it'd take a hike in power.

Haldex II. One member's car was running well over 400bhp on the standard Haldex, and another well over 300bhp.
