Anti roll bar

Featured Replies

Do these make a big difference to to the handling around corners etc?

What ones do people have and how much would a garage roughly charge to fit them?

Yeah. I got a whiteline one and even with standard suspention it makes a big difference. Just ordered some springs to compliment it. My local garage charged me about 30 odd quid fit it.

Yeah thats the one. Got mine from awesome. Not sure about the front. I have wondered the same

i've got the same whiteline one installed.

makes a huge difference with cornering & exit speed abilities!!

front ones do not make much difference and is not worth it.

a front strut-brace on the otherhand would make more sense to reduce the flex.

As mentioned the rear bar makes a big difference.

Another vote for the rear anti roll bar. This gives dramatic change in feel. Feels far more secure and precise.

There is a howto, sticky I think, on changing the rear bar.

I had all sorts of changes in mind when I did mine, but apart from the anti lift kit and alignment, I stopped there.

A front AR bar may just put the balance back where it was, which was why we messed with them in the first place.

The PQ35 shell is generally thought stiff enough to not need any brace at the front, which is why there are so few on offer.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Just need to convince the wife to let me buy it! Got a wee one on the way and been told that i won't be needing it as i won't be "speeding out of corners".

Not even something i can order as it won't slyly fit through the letter box haha.

Just say someone gave it you from the free stuff section. That was my excuse when my new springs come tomorrow. She wont think twice when i quickly put them in my boot out the way! Lol

I may need you to post up a fake post "giving 1 away for free" lol.

Don't forget, they will make the car much more stable and predictable, therefore safer.

Plus when little cochiecoos get older, they won't get car sick from being in the back of a lurching car.

Come on man, think creative!

i had the autotech bar, now have h&r.   the h&r has teflon inserts in the bushes so is less likely to squeak.

AKS did a group buy on these on the mk5gti forum - not sure if that's still running but worth checking out..  or buy see what damian will do for you ;)
