Skoda Fabia ide problem

Featured Replies

Skoda fabia 1.4 16v having problem when car is at ide it doesnt have a stable ide i can see the rev counter going up and down sometimes i think its going to stall it gets that low ive checked all what i can see ive even takening off the electronic   throttle body and gave it a good clean out with carb cleaner but i notice that there wasnt any gasket under the throttle body when i removed it so i just put it back as it was ive checked all the pipes for any leaks and spilts all looking good

I found that on the early 1.4 16V (AUB engine code from 99-2004) it doesnt have a gasket, only a Rubber O-Ring, later models did have a gasket fitted.

I had similar faults of the revs going up and down when the EGR valve was removed and cleaned. It requires an adaption to realign it as well as the throttle body. This needs to be done with VCDS.

Another thing is the EGR valve on mine had cross-threaded studs, so i had to recondition the threads with new studs and torqued them to the appropriate value which also helped to fix the issue.
