FL Superb Elegance with new wheels - too high, need springs but i tow a caravan!

Featured Replies

Morning all

I have recently plumped for differnt wheels and i'm now unsure if i've made the right decision.  Wheels are 2014 Golf GTi 5 spoke, black and polished in 18'' x 8''.

The car however now looks like it needs to be lower - more than it ever did with the standard Trinity wheels which is weird.

Problem is that if i make the car lower, which would hugely improve the looks, i still need to be able to tow our caravan which is around 1600kgs laden without the wheels dissapearing into the arches and scuffing the liners.

And then there is the issue of warranty as the car is only 3 months old.

What are your thoughts please?

Thanks, Dave

If you want to lower the car just go for lowering springs. Eibachs are highly recommended and only lower 30mm

If the caravan is having such an effect wouldn't spring helpers or similar be advisable?

I've got H&R springs.

Lower 40 mm.

Any pictures?

I bought some Audi winter alloys for my Superb, exact same dimensions as the standard Skoda Triffid's but they look tiny!

Still, they did their job!
