Ok so now what, options please.

Featured Replies

Ok so long story short -

I have a 2007 VRS estate thats got 130k on the clock now but it has a fault.....

anything above 40 mph I can here / feel a rumbling from the left of the car (I think) when turning left, not massive turning either just putting pressure on the wheel in that direction.

Parts replaced so far are:

Driveshafts x 2 inc CV joints.

Passenger wheel bearings

track rod ends

top mounts

bottom ball joints

shocks and springs

I generaly wanted to tighten the front end up so was gonna do the above anyway but kinda hoped it would kill off the rumble.

I have inner rack joints to change soon as theyre in the boot waiting to fit and wanna do bushes also but I cant see it being bushes.

After doing the wheel bearing I went for a spin and it was exactly the same.

So.....

Options are......

1) go direct to Skoda and give above info and pay through the nose whilst diagnosis and inevitably replace parts whilst fault finding.

2) keep on going with my own parts replacements and hope for the best.

3) flog the car!  £3500 anyone? lol

4) win lottery.

It's not sawtoothing is it?

Nothing but a change of tyres (then alignment) fixes that.

sounds like the drivers side wheel bearing from your discription, i often get people telling me the wrong side of where the noise is coming from as the sound travels to the other side

Only 40 quid so worth a bash I guess.

Forgot to say, the noise isn't constant, it's on and off on and off so doubt it to be tyres.

If you are turning left then the pressure increases on the right, drivers, side components so that would be the area I would be looking at.
