smaller aux belt for aircon delete...

Featured Replies

I picked up a new belt today for 20vt non air con.. But to me it looks a bit small.!

Do I need a tensioner from a non air con engine aswel as the belt. Plan, to get rid of the air con pump ect....

Continental say the belt you need is a 6PK1120 (Non-AC Mk1 RS).

I fitted a 6DPK1195 (with AC) a few weeks back, which I got from Conti, so I trust their online catalogue.

I don't think you need anything other than the shorter belt and to get the compressor out of the way. The pulley on the compressor is pretty big, so I'd imagine the belt is a fair bit shorter.

The belt has grooves on both sides with a/c - only on one side without a/c. 6PK1120 suggested by bodge makes sense as the belt is 1120mm for the AUQ with no a/c. OEM part is 06A145933D.

6pk1030...

From memory, the 1030mm belt is for a car without a/c or power steering - it's too short (by 90mm).

They did one without power steering?? :-o

Didn't know that, although just looking at this belt, I can see it is to short.. So I need a 1120mm?

Yes, you need a 1120mm for a VRS without a/c (with PAS).

I know the even shorter belt fits at least one of the poverty spec diesels.
