New to the forum, Bought this on friday, i love the colour, F.S.H, Full MOT, Few months TAX, belt done,

One thing i need to ask though, Tear passenger Calliper Seized before i bought it off the garage, they say they had it replaced with a brand new one. Picked it up no issues, Today, under some spirited driving, noticed when the brakes have obviously got hot, the rear caliper is knocking again, is this it bedding in? or has it just not been replaced as i have been told? its pretty loud without the radio on

got a tapping noise starting from cold, real fast coming from the engine bay? and also a tiny rattle, unsure whether im just not used to the sound of a TFSI or what but..

Need a video clip ideally. However; the TFSI is not the most sophisticated sounding engine. It has high pressure injectors and other bits which tick away constantly (you can probably tell I'm not mechanically minded!). Mine makes ticking and tappng noises; as does my friends. Never been a cause for concern.

Just keep a real close eye on oil consumption in the first month of ownership. The TFSI likes a drink of oil (mine does 1L: 900 miles). Once you have figured out how much it uses; buy a 10 gallon drum of 5w-30 and strap it to the roof.

hahah, not that i use this buuutt, is the oil light reliable or like every other car just tell you when it has none in it? uno like the tyre pressure monitor? tells you wen its getting low?

Being overly cautious but with the caliper issue nocking, turned out to be the disc being warped after caliper seized, its out me on edge haha,

Looking for an EVOMS or ITG, some coilovers ( not to dear), 3" Downpipe/sports Cat, exhaust system.

Also if anyone has some BBS CH Reps for sale id be very interested, Maybe them and coilovers for a decent price? :) what you gottt

I personally wouldn't rely on the oil light. Check every fill-up for a couple of months (roughly 300 miles) just to get a feel for consumption. Usually if the light comes on (red) the damage is done. Unless the sensor is faulty.

For the money there not bad, I run them and so do a few others. Give plenty of adjustment and the rides not to harsh.

Tiny little rattly sound coming from car when go past 25,000 revs?

Please dont say its the turbo on its way out.

Was looking at that kit the other day and wondering the same, only reason I can see it not fitting would be the heat shield having a different mounting point?

  • Author

Surely can be modified to fit tho?
