Seat belt issue 2

Featured Replies

Driver seat belt is becoming increasingly slow to retract when removed .

Usually have to guide it back into it's hidy hole myself, and it's irritating.

Cure please?

I sprayed some mr sheen on mine, rolling it out, rubbing it and letting it retract a few times, seemed to help. :D

Mr S or any polish with siliconein it. Pull belt out as far sit wi come ad spray as belt retracts. Give belt a couple of pulls in andout and you'lse the difference. Possibly done last thing at night to let the polish dry. Etra advantage is that car smells nice afterwards .

Turtle Wax is probably a bit of a no no then I presume?  :D

I'll add it tot the Asda shopping list for Friday night then, as I don't suppose the furniture wipes that we have are of much use really?

I read to get the original version, can't remember why though now.

Silicone spray works very well too. I got some in Halfords.

Post #6 of this thread is where it's really at. Making the seatbelt more slippery may help a bit, but it's not addressing the real problem.

Tried it myself a coupe of weeks back. Really happy. :sun:

4. Replace all panels (can be a pain, just keep at it) fix bottom part, then middle, then top, be careful of the fixings as they interlock/overlay)

That's the bit that would worry me.

Get it badly wrong and the consequences could be £££££££.
