Vag Com port location

Featured Replies

I'm really only posting this so in the future if people wanted to know where the vag com port thingy was without searching for it, or just couldn't find it all they would need to do is search the forum for it, the locations on the drivers side (for rhd not sure about lhd cars) just right to the accelerator pedal along with some what appear to be fuses

I thought it was different for each car, but I'll take your word on it :)

They used to be in various locations around the car, but certainly from MKII Fabia/Octavia etc onwards they are now in a standardised location.

It's now a legal thing to be in that area for OBD checks by the authorities.

To check for remaps and faults that could've caused a crash?

No. Emission checks. In some states the US it is against the law to drive with an engine management light on so they can check fault codes etc. We already have telematics systems so they can fault code scan on a passing car.
