Hi All,

 

I have a 2002 1.6 Octavia estate, the engine is knackered and I need to replace it.

 

It has an AVU engine which I am having trouble getting a second hand one.

 

I have been told the 1.6 BFQ from an Audi A3 is the same engine.

 

Can anyone please confirm this.

Is it 8 valve or 16valve?

Is it worth it?

The BFQ replaced the AVU in mid-2002. I know both are both Simos 3.3 and both are Euro4.
