Haa, yeah that would probably be a good bet if it is tar. Didn't even know you could get stuff dedicated to removing tar! DOH!

Tar remover from Autoglym is like petrol - very runny clear liquid, but it does work very well though.

 

I think you are advised to polish the panel afterwards?

Agree it's great stuff. I'm having to use it frequently at the moment.
