Octavia II Strange engine cut off, clicking sound from relay box

Featured Replies

New user here

I'm currently driving octavia II 2006 model AT LnK

Really happy with it

Today morning i fired up the car, everything was fine then after 5-10 mins the got engine cut off and the car stalled,it won't start again

No errors except "Emission Workshop" on Instrument Cluster, even after so many tries the engine didn't really fire up

Left the car idle, locked for 30 mins and tried again and

It started, and started working perfectly fine,i thought the problem is sorted

BUT

Second day car repeated same thing but this time car engine got cut off after 5 mins and started back working in 30 mins but then again cut off after 5 mins,so i decided to tow the car to the nearest garage

Now it would cut off engine every 5 mins and come back to life in a hour

I assumed the problem was with crank sensor,so i replaced it with the new one

STILL NO SUCESS,the car would stall after 15-20 mins, and I could hear clicking noises from the relay box under steering

I thought it would be clocked EGR,so i took it off, cleaned it nice and reinstall

I called a person to scan the car,it would show unknown error once stalled(which can't be cleared)the service guy suggested to replace or repair the ECU,it shows no error when car is running fine?Except emmsison workshop

I'm really confused

Please help me out

Check the engine earth and earth to relay plate,

Do you know how to volt drop?

Tried connecting battery negative to a engine metal, still won't start:(

Ok, this may be a pain to explain, do you have a multimeter?

I am having the same problems. Did you find out what the problem was ?

@Bigjohns Welcome.

Hopefully in 8 1/2 years they did find the problem.

That was with a 2006 car.

Maybe best set out your own issue.   Hopefully someone can assist you.
