Seat Cleaning Time

Featured Replies

Right, as the weather's been nice i thought i'd give my seats a bit of a clean. They've been down my garage for nearly a year and its damp down there. They were a combination of black and green with mould. NICE!!!!!!!

Well i only managed to take a photo of the passenger seat and its only the 1st going over so far but their not too shabby.

Nasty and mouldy. The photos really don't show how bad they really are.

Dirty water. Looks like someone pooped in my bucket. This is from the seat in the photo.

How come you're getting rid of the octys?

While i really really like the octy seats it dawned on me that I'm the only person who had sat in my car for about 8 months, haha i just realised how sad that sounds haha.

I changed the seats over because i really couldn't be bothered with all the cleaning of the fabia seats every week, but its only the drivers seat that gets used so i don't need the super low maintenance octy seats anymore.  I've only cleaned them twice i think in nearly a year unlike the fabia seats that were once a week/fortnight.

Plus i have a puzzi now so don't mind cleaning hahahah.

TBH I'd have no problem with using a wet vac on my heated seats. The elements aren't so crude as to be exposed copper wire, they're sleeved. Use a Rug Doctor or similar. Most of the dihydrogen monoxide is vacuumed away into a reservoir.

That looks like it has come up really well

I always thought it was a daft idea putting such light cloth into a car interior

I still don't understand cream or white leather for seats either :/ not practically anyway.

Although I am a gardener...

They've come up better than what i thought they would so far. I used biobrisk to kill the mould and some g101 so far. Going to have another go with some vanish i think when the weather gets a bit better. Im in no rush, its not like their in the car haha.

I like the comfort of the seats but such a light grey is super high maintaince but as im the only person who sits in my car its not to bad and i spend most of my free time under 1 car or another so my seat does get dirty but its not too bad to keep clean now.

I had thought that if i got a normal vRS I would get a seat cover for definite, as the amount of muck, dust, grass, and crap that is on me from day to day is outstanding. Along with the fact that in my spare time I enjoy standing in fields, crawling through woods stalking things, and creating hides to shoot from - there is going to be a good chance the seats are going to end up muddy and stained.
I said to myself that I would get a cover for the driver seat in my car... but haven't quite got around to it / have changed my mind as the seats are easy to keep clean..
That day will come though inevitably when I jump into my car with a knife of a pair of seccatuars in my pocket and leave a big scratch/rip in the leahter :/
