I know they're cheapo replicas and I know they're 18s (some say aren't suitable) but will the fitment and offset be okay on my mkii vrs?

Yeah should do, 5X100, nice wheels though

Thanks I'm more concerned about the et35 offset as not sure what it is supposed to be or if it makes much difference?

ET is the offset - the wheels you are looking at are +35. For example your Gigaros are +41. My guess you should be fine with 35.

It comes with some 225/40/18 WR

Just seen that apparently affects the speedo quite allot, I might see if I can change the tyres.

I like your thinking :P hopefully they will look right, not sure wether to keep them silver or paint them black, just have to wait and see what they look like

Managed to order some with the 215/35 R 18 tyres, at no extra charge! 

 

The guys at Sheldons Manchester were incredibly helpful and would definitely recommend

Alloys arrived today and got round to fitting them this evening! I like the look of them on the car but unsure on whether to paint them black or leave them silver? They look brighter in the pictures.

Looks chuffing great on those wheels. Leave the colour. Perfect as is. You won't get to see the lovely lines of the wheels if you paint them black.

Wow they look great, a really good price too.

What's the ride like on the 18s?

I haven't had a chance to take it out yet, will report tomorrow morning after my comute to work

Awesome, look forward to hearing your thoughts. I've been considering some new wheels and had a few possibilities.

Either something very BBS-esque or something OEM looking, either VW or Audi wheels.

I definitely think the larger 18 inch wheel suits the Fabias upright stance

Don't even think about painting them black. They are perfect as they are.

The ride hasn't seemed to change at all, probably not the best test as I am running cheap coil overs which make the ride as bad as it could possibly be in the first place...road noise seemed the same aswell Overall, really happy with the purchase! Thanks for all the options on the colour, I'll definitely keep them silver :P

Have you noticed the rear arch rubbing at all when going over dips and bumps?

Not at all, I thought I was going to have a big issue with that as the gap was tiny (see pic below), think it's due to the dampers being really stiff. Will update if I get any issues, it is the first day after all :P
