Boot floor with aluminium rail and partition system, or Variable Boot floor?

Featured Replies

I've tried to get to the bottom of this before and am still not sure if I have a clear answer and the dealers don't seem to know either.

One of these options is £250, the other £435

The photos on page 9 of the current brochure indicates that the cheaper 'Boot floor with aluminium rail and partition system' levels out the slight step between the boot and back seats.

The other 'Variable boot floor with aluminium rail & partition system' provides a movable boot floor which can extend on runners, out over the rear bumper for loading heavy items.

Only one of these is shown in photos in the brochure, and with the names so similar, I fear an info ****-up.

I'd like a flat load area with something to stop shopping sliding out of reach from the rear bumper, and I'm happy to pay £250.

I don't need the Thunderbirds extending floor for £435

If the cheaper option still leaves the stepped load area, I'll just give it a miss and save £250.

Does anyone have a definitive answer on this?

Thanks

There is a slight step with the rail and partition system, between the luggage area and the cabin area with the rear seats folded down.

Many thanks.

I was starting to suspect this was the case, but appreciate the definite answer.

Right, that's £250 saved!

With the rails, I believe you get a movable partition that can stop shopping sliding to the far corners of the boot. You also get four adjustable tings for connecting things like elastic nets and a two 10 inch high adjustable poles with an adjustable tensa-barrier that can hold, say, a box if 6 wine bottles upright. I got all this with my adjustable rail system.  For me they were part of the package, so I didn't have to pay extra, but I might have, if they hadn't been standard

Agree they would be handy, but I know the boot floor area in the estate and twin-door are the same length and width. I've managed without on my twin-door and it was just the thought of getting a flat floor that tempted me.

At least I know for sure now and am £250 in-pocket.

Thanks for the responses chaps.

Just to confirm, the 'Variable boot floor with aluminium rail & partition system' does result in a completely flat load area with the rear seats folded.

I guess it's still out of the question at the price, but I thought I'd let you know.
