:bump: What happened to all the interest in this?

Everyone take a look at the 1st October in your diaries. :D

This is now the 8TH OCTOBER 2005, due to another RR day cropping up. Can a Mod please alter the date in the thread please? The rest can be done as normal. Oh, and the names thread... Can that be changed too please? ;)

hehehe looks like a little competion now

my standard vRS against your home made vRS

I wonder which while get the higher read outs

  • Author

Well, my vRS WILL be "standard" map - so will be of interest to me too. ;)

BTW - If a MOD reads this please change thread title to 08/10/05.... :D:thumbup:

Hi Guys, i'll be going not in a skoda. I'm mates with El richy on here who owns a octy vrs. Will be interesting to see what my little clio makes! As i'm sure rich will tell you she aint shy! lol

too bloody right, always nice to see a blue flame as well!

Is anyone going who has a tuning box, preferably a digital one? If so, can I do one run without a box and the other run while borrowing a box?

Should help to see how much difference a tuning box makes.

If I can get a box, I'll come along for sure. It seems a little pointless else, sorry.

Hi - Its on the EIGHTH november... well, obviously given the 1st was yesterday.

Add your name to the list, Rich!

Huh? Don't you mean october?

Yeah, I do! Looks, its late - had a long day out and done a pram race! I'm fooked!

OK,

I'd like to come along and get RRed.

However, I had planned to fit that new lump of metal with lots of piping which has arrived in the post at the end of last week.

So, if anyone has some axle stands they can bring, and even better, if anyone's going and has already fitted their "2nd radiator", I'd be interested in a helping hand or two, weather permitting.

Could be interesting too for people to have something else to look at.

However, I'm only going to do this if I can be guaranteed that I can get it done in a reasonable amount of time. I'll be about 100 miles away from home and NEED my car to be in running order by the end of the day. :) Hence why I'm asking for help and dedication ;)

oh, thought you meant sump guard?! :o

Well, I am willing to have a go at helping you fit the FMIC yup. Not sure what tools you'll need - bumper will have to come off, plus pliers for spring clips, various torx/bolts/screwdrivers....

Any techie's coming along?

Edit: Don't forget TSR IS a garage too. Sure they'll have plenty of tools and Neal I'm pretty sure is quite techie.

Stop mincing about and get your name on the list. ;) :P

Anyone else from Bristol going to the rolling road day this Saturday and want to convoy down to bridgwater?

I want to do it, but based on the experience of other briskodians with random mechanical work, I'd rather play safe than sorry ;)

Regarding tools, all you need is:

T25 & T30 torx screwdrivers

Posidrive & flat blade screwdrivers

10mm & 13mm sockets with extensions / ratchets

a set of axle stands to prop the front of the car up.

Must be a piece of cake :D

  • Author

Well Xav ;) I've asked the question to TSR to see if there could be a little freak show on the side as a group of Briskodians rip apart the front of a vRS and change the intercooler. :D Will let you know as soon as I know if its OK. If we're lucky they'll past a 2 post lift we can utilise, but having never been there I don't know. A lift would make access to turbo pipework much easier.

Going to put it on the rollers as well? ;)

Was thinking about the rollers naturally. If they offer two runs, could do a before and after too see not just and numbers difference, but more the shape of the curve, if such is visible (note taken about no printouts).

If they greenlight it, I'm up for it. Could be a good laugh and offer some alternative entertainement. If you can bring your drive-on stands, that would be cool, although probably won't be used if they can provide access to a proper post lift. :)

Re the undertray, I'm sure we can come to some agreement ;) but prioritiy is to get the IC on. Will also be interesting to see how the alu sump guard plate from Josh's GB can fit, if it will fit. Don't forget to bring a big hammer :D :P

  • Author

I'm not wielding a hammer anywhere near your car! Thats for you and you alone! :D

I'm still surprised by the fact only 12 people are coming... Must be a few more people willing to come for a half day out to the Westcountry? No one fancy the laugh of ripping apart a vRS? :D

i must point out that a think the

XAV! Just had confirmation back "won't be a problem" - But I would advise to bring along a little something extra as "facility rental" ;)
