Finally bought one......

Featured Replies

Went to look at another couple of Elegances yesterday. First one was a March 2010 10 plate CR170 with 34k on the clock and with park assist and uprated stereo in black with ivory interior which was on at £12400 at an independant sales place with 3 months warranty but the place phoned us as we were about to set off to say it had just been sold. So we headed over to look at a second one which was a November 2010 60 plate with 29k on the clock with park assist and heated rear seats in cappuccino with ivory interior which was £12600 at a Skoda dealer with a 12 month Skoda used car warranty. Had a look around it and a test drive and all was well so went ahead and bought it. The dealer wasn't budging on the price though but i did manage to get a full set of new carpets and got the car taxed so i did get a bit of something i suppose. It's had one previous owner who had it via motability so it's been fully serviced etc.... and had anything it's needed doing done etc....

Must admit to having one of biggest ever "blonde moments" here though because it's only after putting the deposit down etc.... i realised it was a CR140 rather than a CR170!!!! I'd had a quick drive in a CR170 before but when driving the CR140 yesterday it was still punchy so it never registered at the time!!!

Anyway the savings against a similar age and spec CR170 are still more than the cost of a remap or dtuk box and insurance wise it's looking like a difference of less than £10 per year between a standard CR170 and a remapped CR140.

Should be picking the car up a week on Tuesday all being well.

Cheers

Dave.

Nice looking car that mate, well done on the purchase.

Looks lovely, I love the ivory interior. You won't regret it when the evenings get darker, and the sky is always grey. It feels very special.

Looks a great car, best of luck with it.  Those alloys look in good shape too!

Nice looking car Dave..... i hope she does you proud!!!

nice car dave and welcome to the superb club,  what colour is it dave and is it dsg. shark performance is best for a remap, had mine done for about 4 months now and love it, imo a tuning box would mess about with your engine. which dealer did you buy from

Its cappuccino and yes its a DSG. Bought it from Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield.... Which is where i bought my vRS from back in 2006. :)

Nice looking car-the colour really suits the superb. Might be worth replacing the photos with ones with the number plate blanked out though.

post some pics up dave when you pick it up on tuesday

The position it is parked in outside Rainworth's showroom is the exaxt same spot our Octavia Scout was parked in 5 years ago when we collected it!

Great dealership.

I'm not planning too much.

LED DRLs and new style front and rear badges along with wheel centre caps. And then as I mentioned earlier either a dtuk box or a remap to get it up to what I was originally planning on having power wise.

Great dealership.

.......and the exact  same place where I picked up my Vrs 2 years  ago, great dealership and I'd certainly go back and use them again,

Collected the car today and brought her home. Really impressed with how good the 140 is as standard. Just had four adults, a child and a full tank of fuel and it's got more grunt than the V70 137bhp has with just me in it!!!!

Only thing i can't seem to get working is the footwell lights when the headlights are on.... Doesn't seem to be an option for it in the maxidot and they work when opening the doors but not when the headlights are on either via auto option or manually turning headlights on.

I'm thinking its gonna be a case of it needing enabling via vagcom etc....

Also realised the car has another option..... Auto dimming mirror. :) so three in all so far.

Is there anything under 'lights and vision' in maxidot??  There should be option to turn footwell lights on and off as well as adjust brightness.  Strange if there isn't the option

  • Author

No nothing for footwell lights. Just coming home, leaving home, running lights, travel lights and factory default..... And one other which I can't remember at the mo.

***edit*** I remembered the other option i couldn't remember is the lane change indicators i think.

Sure ive read elsewhere people have needed the option enabling before they could then adjust them etc.....

Cheers

Dave.

You can code the footwell lights with vcds. Ive had it done to mine and looks nice at night

Adz..... So with this age car can it only ever be done via vcds? Or once enabled via vcds can it then be accessed via maxidot?

Cheers

Dave.

Great modern looking car there. Makes my Fabia look like an old taxi lol.

Dave: code it with vcds and then it puts it in the maxidot menu to adjust the brightness
