Checked coolant level?

Sensor in the bottle

I've had the same.

Drained coolant (which was yucky) and cleaned expansion bottle / sensor with brake cleaner.

Cleaned whole coolant system and refilled.

Coolant is still a bit yucky but the light hasn't come back on 400 miles or 2 weeks later later.

Agree with it pointing to the sensor in the coolant expansion bottle.

If it isn't the level it'll be the sensor in the expansion bottle, either clean it with a tooth brush or just buy a new bottle there like £5-£10.

You'll have a very small leak. Most likely passenger side at the bottom corner or from the fan switch.

New expansion tank is £17 from the dealer without cap.

Aftermarket new ones with cap are £12 on eBay.

Getting at the sensor physically is nigh on impossible. Brake cleaner works VERY well, but you will have to drain the system and refill (£12 for G13 coolant).
