60 thou and the drivers seat is knackered.

Featured Replies

Really in poor shape considering I had a replacment seat fitted under warrenty.

Adjuster knob falls off/fallen off, fabric cutting through over a plastic/metal lump in the side frame etc etc.

Really not what I would have expected of VW/Skoda quality.

How long ago was the warranty replacement done? Did you buy the car new?

Time for another seat under warranty then.

If the car is out of warranty and the mileage is genuine (and not used as a taxi) then I'd be pushing for a goodwill gesture from Skoda UK.

Unless of course you are heavy set or big boned (or whatever the politically correct way of saying overweight is these days) in which case it may be fair wear and tear.

car bought new from a Skoda franschised dealer.

not taxied

full service history.

5 years extended Skoda warrenty.(with 18 months to run)

Just felt not a lot of point if the replacment seat is going to be no better.

Prob should have pushed for another seat, the  last time she was in for the free free service, i.e 5 years free servicing, but I used the extra over free free service letter Skoda had provided to get a free service even though I had free servicing anyway.

Well I understand what I mean.

Tis not only our Government that lacks "joined up thinking"

Still waiting to find what they are for doing about my still dysfunctional ( and throwing up the same fault code after each malfunction)  DSG transmission.

Mine has done 56k and still looks pretty new. Definitely get a new seat under warranty.

I'd be straight back to dealer. As with jrw I'm on 54k and seats are almost as new.

83k and nearly 7yr on mine. Bit of wear on the leather trim other than that it's fine.

8 years old: 113,000 on a vRS; seats are still like new. :/

At 80k the seats on my Elegance weren't quite "as new" - you could tell they've been sat on - but they still looked very good indeed and weren't in any way in need of replacement.

That's the odd thing with mine; the leather hasn't got any wear, there is no sagging in any of the seats. The rears look like they've never had anyone sat in them. All I've done is regularly use leather cleaner and cream on the bolsters. There are however arguments that this does nothing; so I'm not really sure why the seats are in such good condition. It's the same with the pedals and gear knob; unless its all been replaced before I had the car.

The seat/squab? is in good nick.

It is the side of the seat next the drivers door, where it should not be able to get worn.

That is rubbing through, again.

The missing lumbar adjuster knob I can only blame on the seatbelt, as I reach back for it.

I also have a hole worn in the carpet on the side of the transmission tunnel from my left boot!

And a hole through the fitted mat (and just starting into the carpet below) from  my right heel.

PS

I will chase the seat issue up when the car is in Monday 2nd June for the free 1hr check-up.
