Well, Eddie, Neomancer...Bravo!!!

Well done, like it very much.

I have a 07/2007 VRS TDI PD with maxidot...is it possible to make it like this ?

Again, Eddie you Bravo!

And this...very, very..nice ;)

Pretty sure staging is not possible on a pre-FL.

Would love the illuminated needles though.

How did you do this Eddie?

Phil

Ah yeah. True!

I bet he's read the eeprom from the cluster and changed the coding then re-written.

When i was reading around for the previous car this is how it was all done.

Not just a matter of a simple VCDS tweak.

Phil

Why is it that you add something, do a modification, recode to change a function, then always immediately find there is something new that you want? Just spent out on a dashcam, MFSW and a TPMS retrofit (from Eddie) and already looking at this change for the maxidot plus front parking sensors..............

Mike

Haha... I know how you feel.

I think the same... but now I'm considering the MFSW option again plus want to get the PDC working with the Columbus too!

We'll see what Eddie says...

Phil

If you do go for the MFSW remember I still have the required loom that I bought from Eddie. You'd have to get a different steering column controller though as the one I got with the wheel doesn't support voice control. As discussed you can have the loom for the same as I paid Eddie - I hadn't realised that a loom came with my wheel so this one is just sitting spare.

As far as the PDC goes, I wouldn't bother -- far, far superior with a reverse camera (and a lot flashier too!).  You can't judge distance down to 5mm with park sensors/display alone....

Mike

PS and another thing I'm looking at is changing the CECM to a 3C8 to get ambient footwell lights.............Someone please confiscate my visa card :D

Oh yeah. I'll keep that in mind.

And stop encouraging me! My Dad commented the other day when he saw the big screen and said I should get a camera fitted too!

Shhh stop talking about the things i want.

- Front Parking + OPS conversion

- Footwell lights

- Climatronic -> FL upgrade

- Bluetooth with audio streaming.

- TPMS (tried to code it last night.. think i need the switch)

- Bolero is going in on friday

- MDI (not that fussed)

I want front parking sensors too, need to pay a ton of money for a loom though... although Eddie mentioned building his own..... wonder if its considerably cheaper.. i don't want to ghetto it with CAT5 :p

Yes you DEFINATELY need the switch.

I fitted my TPMS just last night -- until the switch and wire to the ABS pump went in, recoding the ABS module and trying a reset via VCDS resulted in nothing more than a flashing TPMS light. As soon as the switch and wire to the ABS pump went in, press the new TPMS and ASR switches together to complete the reset, the dashboard bongs and the light comes on permanently. Release the switches and it goes out immediately. Now only the TPMS button needs pressing for a couple of seconds to reset the system.

Hope this helps

Mike

Aha, so the stuff i read about being able to cheat and just use VCDS for adaption is wrong then :P  admittedly that wasn't for an octavia though..

CAN gateway tonight. should be fun :)
