clutch

Featured Replies

Hi looking for some advice. 1.9tdi 2007 octy bxe engine with nearly 120k on the clock, thinking of getting the clutch changed, all ok at the mo but am thinking of getting it changed early when I can plan it. Does the dmf always need changed or just the clutch if all currently ok? My mechanic says changing to an smf can make it a bit lumpy at idle - any thoughts?

It's always good to change the DMF but it can cost £££ I wouldn't swap to a SMF on a diesel IMO as it can cause lumpy idle and can cause harsh pulling away just isn't as smooth as you would have been to?

Hope this helps

Thanks, anyone else

The conversion to SMF on the 1.9 PD105 is very widely done.

Skoda even do the replacement themselves if requested.

Do a search on you should find lots of info on it.
