Hi Again,

 

I have done some research this time, reading a lot of stuff about EGR delete, but still got couple questions.

1. Is the fitting actual delete (EGR replaced with race pipe) any better than simple blanking off with a custom gasket?

2. I understand that i would need a remap to switch the EGR completely off, but will it affect any performance if i would be driving it with the error light on the dashboard?

Suggest blanking, as that way you keep your anti-shudder valve would would help save the engine if the soil seals in the turbo fail as the engine would run away without.

 

I just blanked mine & removed the that section of the vacuum pipework (never bothered to adjust the duty cycle settings), no light on the dash of mine (1.9, 110, 2001 - I guess as yours is a SLX it must be pre-facelift)
