Because it is a Skoda,  the Cheapest of the 5 Twinchargers on sale.

& Volkswagen make Skoda show slower in official figures than Audi, A1 185 ps,

VW Polo GTI 180ps & Seat. Ibiza 180ps Cupra

The vRS is the Lightest among the 3 sisters, and the difference is 205 tyres on the Skoda, 215 on the other 3.

But they are heavier than the official Unladen Weights published.

Skoda said or allowed everyone to believe the More Expensive vRS Estate was 5 KG lighter than the Hatch.

Now the have corrected the Published Official Weights,

The Estate was and is 70 KG heavier unladen weight,.

(Take the weights off the vRS Hatch and the hatch is 95 kg lighter)

All the salespeople and magazine reviewers just took the Skoda Published figures and never questioned

how 9 3/4 " longer & more metal, plastic and glass could be lighter.

But the Estate gets better traction than the Hatch and can be quicker at acceleration.

There are firmer rear springs, and the estate is longer, but gets better front end grip.

The Hatch vRS has 25 KG extra Weight on the rear crash bar.

The CTHE has the same engine & Engine Management as the 2013 Seat Ibiza Cupra,

SEAT Published new figures for the Ibiza,  Skoda did not revise them on the vRS's.

Cheers for the link, they are all tuned......anyone run a stock CTHE engine there?

Always thought the car seemed quicker than 7.3.....the Cupra stats are 6.9....where did you get 6.2 from?

Cheers!

From timing them, Standard CAVE, TMC & Stage 1 CAVE & Standard CTHE,

Standard CTHE is near the same or better than CAVE-TMC.

and thats the best way to find out, time your car,.

1/4 mile times starting with lights, is not the same as 'stopped.,  go when you want.  There is no reaction time.

so 0-62 mph when you push the pedal anytime you want.,

is not the same as on a timed 1/4 mile or Sprinting with someone saying when to go.

Thks for that......now a Fabia v Octavia VRS would be a good race over 1/4.........

Not really, the Octavia vRS 220 ps Petrol is left behind.

They do give it as having a 6.8 0-62   Its 0-100 or 0-120 plus you want the figure for

(Unladen the official figures have it 100 kg more)

haha..........so now the TMC box is a no go - what else can be done - induction kit? don't want to void the warranty though.

Springs will be on next week.

Try using Tesco Momentum 99 first,

at £2.25 a tank more it is a good mod, if the cars not nippy enough now.

Then go from there.

will hunt a Tesco's down on Saturday.

H&R RARB for the first mod, transforms the handling.

Bobnaldo, going with the Eibich springs as warranty will be fine.

Are there any pictures floating around with the Eibach springs fitted...opinions?

Just spoke to the nice chap at TMC...........the box can be used on the CTHE engine - is anyone running one?

Glad I'm wrong!!! :-)
