Sorry another what's it worth thread!

Featured Replies

Been umming and arring for a while but I'm 99% sure I'm selling up so just wondered what it's worth as I really don't know and the price differs like mad when I look on ebay and auto trader.

2005 on a 54, say 140k as it won't be for a few weeks, had cambelt and water pump done at 120k, sachs clutch and dmf at 130k always serviced.

Got joms, rarb and strut brace although I could take these off. Faboka map and decat 0 box exhaust.

Seat surgeons leather with arm rest.

Decent tyres, had new brakes etc just needs a window motor really. Scuff on rear bumper where someone has nudged it :(

I was thinking around the £2000 mark as is or maybe £1700 if I sold the leathers and put standard seats in?? Am I thinking about right or too low or too high?

2 grand?!!! Bloody hell mate I'd hope it was worth more than that.

DEFINITELY sell your leathers. I sold my factory leather to Dan in exchange for some decent nick standard cloth seats. In my eyes the seats weren't going to put much value on the car when I sell, so figured I'd get rid.

Personally I'd put it completely back to standard if you have the parts still. Makes it easier to sell, as it gives you a much broader market to aim the car at. I'm keeping hold of mine for a few months and slowly making it as mint as I can before I sell up.

Why you decided on selling for good mate? I know you've been to and fro' the idea for ages now.

Put the stock suspension, exhaust, new window motor in. With FSH is should fetch more than £2k. Stick it up for £2500?

Just getting more and more annoyed with stuff with it. Spent a few hours yesterday trying to sort a boost leak with no luck so will have to spend more time at the weekend although I'm pretty sure it might be around the n75 valve now. Window motor is doing my head in too and I'm looking at buying springs when it's already got coilovers on so just thinking instead of re spending money on stuff start again with something else.

The prices differ that much I thought it would be worth about £2k. I'd be happy with £2500 as it is but I might try and get it more standard and I'll look into the seats. A lad by me might hopefully buy my joms so if he does I will buy some apex springs with the money.

I'm near enough working 7 days a week at the min so I'm in this all the time and then needing to sort niggles out is getting to me

I've only got my shocks but hopefully I might of sold my joms so will order apex springs if it goes through. Hopefully putting a back box on this weekend all being well and I really don't want to pay out for a new motor if I can help it but might have to if the worse comes to the worse :( I will get these bits done and get it advertised and see what happens

I have standard suspension and a standard exhaust here Kyle :)

trust me it's hard work selling a good condition car fingers crossed i've got mine sold tomorrow but it's taken sometime to do so

Sorry to jeopardise thread but would you say the stage 1 remap lowers the value?

Yes however when you come to sell see if it can be swapped back to a factory one!

I think it depends on the map. If it's a decent map then not at all. The high torque faboka map I'm running now won't be to everyone's taste but if I was to switch to the lower torque one I can't think why anyone would want the spiky standard map compared to the smooth map. It's not just the power it's the smoothness of the map that makes it worth doing so imo I'd sooner have a remapped car if it was a decent remap as I'd want it done so would save me money

I agree 100% that a decent map is better than the horrid standard map BUT as a selling point of view, it'd reduce you're possible buyer audience hugely. Lots of people will rule a car out instantly because it's modified. Plus the insurance implications will be an issue for some.

Sorry this may be a bit of a stupid question, but would the same apply for different coloured standard alloys (anthricite/grey)? (Some cars these day have them standard out of the factory to just give a sporty look)

Colour of wheels should make no difference insurance wise as they are standard wheels. As to whether it affects the value I'd say if you like them then no but if you're not keen then you might be put off

Only just seen this. I've got my standard back box but if I need springs I'll give you a shout
