New possible owner

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

after some advice I'm hopefully changing my current car (corsa vxr) to a skoda octavia VRS always fancied one...

now its a 2011 Octavia VRS 2.0tdi 170bhp with DSG with 34,000 miles on the clock..

I've spoken to a few owners now and they all love them and comment about how superb they are to drive but what is the DSG gearbox like to live with as I've never driven one and unsure whether I will like It or not the concept behind it sound great.....

Any help would be great I'm seeing it Saturday

thanks kelby

They seem to be a bit marmite.

I loved mine, brilliant auto for when you can't be bothered, fast shifts at the flick of a paddle when you want to have fun.

You'll only know after you have driven one if you like it I suspect.

Sorry mine's a manual so I can't help, but welcome to the forum.

Thanks for quick replies guys and thanks for welcome response.....

Have you had any problems with your dsg gearbox at all... i don't suppose you had a remap on your diesel yet to see how the dsg handles it.... i had had a look the dsg boxes can handle 350nm of torque no problem
